…there are a bunch of different Atomic Hellephant color choices, not to mention other assorted fuckery patterns. Also I made my dress/shoes in the black/red combo, but it was actually more like a brownish/orange when it arrived at my door (which I thought worked even better!).
I was the one in the shirt in the same fabric. I was disappointed, expecting black and red when it was more dark brown/grey with orange, but hey, hellephant fabric! The fabric was from a contest Regretsy did some time ago. The designer of the fabric has yet to take a bow, though. Anyone know who it is?
Oh, and for the record, I didn’t make my shirt. I got PBCGE to make it for me because she sews better than I do.
For my shoes (brown/orange) it was literally just “glue shit to other shit.” I bought some strappy canvas wedges on the cheap, and then used Fabri-Tac glue to glue the fabric around the straps and to the sides. My friend Jess (blue/green) did essentially the same thing but with pleather shoes and ModgePodge. Hers came out shiny but did start peeling by the end of the evening (3 AMish?). I think fabric as a shoe base with legit fabric glue wins for durability sake…
Oh, and they were super easy–I totally want to make a meellion pairs of fabric covered shoes now!
