I read the post you put up about Kevin and his wife, Tashi. It really broke my heart.
I was wondering what I might be able to do for them, when I found out that Doctor Who was filming in NYC this week!
Guess what? My friend and I managed to get a card signed by the cast:
The Doctor/Matt Smith
Amy Pond/Karen Gillan
Rory Willams/Arthur DarvillWe talked to one of the crew members, Jim, who turned out to be the assistant director (I believe that’s what he said) and he passed the card over to be signed for us – Yay for Jim!
Love your site and the stuff you do for your readers. I hope this card will cheer Kevin up.

Don’t worry about it, Beebs. You’ll be with a bunch of FJLs with some native NYers thrown in the mix. Everyone will think you’ve never been farther west or south than NJ!
One thing: Real NYers walk in clumps, not side by side, filling out the sidewalk. I’ve seen tourists 8 abreast and I want to scream, “Break up into small groups. You’re not the fucking Rockettes, fer chrissakes!”

New Yorkers are honestly some of the friendliest people as long as you’re not in their way. They’ll give you directions, plot out your subway trip for you, and pretty much make damn sure you’re enjoying their city. I love New York and New Yorkers.

Hell yes, Princess! I’m a NJ native who transplanted herself to South FL a few years ago. All of the terrible NJ stereotypes are NY’ers (smelly- nope, that’s Staten Island; bad drivers- you try and avoid the NY drivers; trashy and insane- that’s Jersey Shore… NONE of them are from NJ, and almost all of them are from NY!)

No offense, folks – but NYC seems to do friendlier.
North Jersey is kind of like NCY’s super suburb, whereas South Jersey is kind of like PA but flat and sandy.

Anything to do with Doctor Who gives me too many emotions for my own good, and to say I love that show and its cast would be a vast understatement (I’m wearing a sonic screwdriver t-shirt, my account name is taken from the constellation in which the Doctor’s late home planet was located, and I have been studying to the soundtrack today, in case I need nerd cred here).
So this… I just… I don’t know how to process all my feels right now. I love this in so many ways. The person who thought to get this, the person who brought it to the attention of the cast, the cast, and April are all just really amazing. And if it makes me this happy secondhand, I can only hope he’ll be thrilled beyond imagining. Good work all around.
