No reason you should have been down-thumbed—I think you were making a suggestion why it couldn’t be lit up, not an insult to the carver.
It’s very possible that Marshmallowmagic carved away the outside, to keep the pumpkin intact inside (it will last longer, plus can be scooped out to make a lovely pie!).
