Yeah, unfortunately I couldn’t get a pumpkin here (in Australia) that was good for carving without blowing my budget a LOT.

Yeah, the proper ones are at least 20 bucks here. And carving them is really fucking hard.

I did one last year, just so I could have the experience and because we’d had a good number of kds trick or treating in the neighborhood in previous years. Got my expensive pumpkin all carved, made treat bags, made spiced, baked pumpkin seeds. I was all ready for it. Put the pumpkin outside with a candle burning bright to let people know our house was ready for the kids. Then we didn’t get a single knock on the door lol!

I tried to make spiced, baked pumpkin seeds and I burnt the shit out of them.
I put my pumpkin outside but I wasn’t expecting any knocks on the door because I live on the fifth floor of a secure building.
