I know! I was sitting in a high school waiting for my sister’s play to start and looking at these on my phone, thinking: “Clearly I should have stepped up my game! These fuckers are amazing!”
I’m right there with you…
I didn’t have time to get creative, and even then my talent and creativity is on a whole ‘nother level than these guys. A lower level.
Awww thanks! I sent the picture to my mom without any kind of explanation. She emailed me back this morning with “Why did you carve Cotton Hill into a pumpkin?” Hahaha I totally didn’t see it until she said something.
I can’t wait to carve my pumpkin tomorrow! I bought these plastic teeth that you push into the pumpkin mouth. They’re long and scary looking. I’m so excited for Halloween this year, even though I have to work that evening…but I’m having a party tomorrow night so it’s OK!
Advanced notice: I will probably be drunk commenting on here after everyone leaves.
Well, mine isn’t in there. So either it was
1 ) too pitiful to be considered, or
2 ) it’s still in the running…
Compared to any of these, I’m guessing it
fell into category 1.
I think I need more beer to console myself.
Y’alllllllllllllllllll.
So much talent! I”m honored to be among the fat jealous losers observing. Excellent work!
Makes me wish I’d taken a day off work, gone to the Farmer’s Market, and joined in the fuckery.
My sister and I did the Walking Dead pumpkins! It’s so cool to even get a mention!!! I have to give credit–they are patterns from zombiepumpkins.com. They have some kick-ass patterns, we use them every year. My favorites were the Dark Knight and the Joker two years ago.
Hell, even with the patterns I probably would have found a way to completely fuck it up. It would have looked like Mayor Quimby shooting Britney Spears.
Yours is AMAZING and I’m incredibly jealous of your superior skills.
I have realized that just about every idea I thought of doing that was done, was done about 343243835003 times better than I could have done anyway. Kudos to you all!

October 28, 2011 at 4:50 pm
You talented shower of bastards…
October 28, 2011 at 4:52 pm
good christ, these are the runners-up? I’ll just be over here forlornly poking my gourd and consoling myself with bourbon…
October 28, 2011 at 5:00 pm
I know! Makes me think the winner must be a fully-functional pumpkin-based robot or something.
October 28, 2011 at 5:00 pm
That’s exactly what came out of my mouth… these are the RUNNERS-UP? My God!
October 28, 2011 at 5:08 pm
I’m trying to decide if “poking my gourd” is a euphemism…
October 28, 2011 at 5:21 pm
Oh, what the hell, Muzali, let’s make it one!

Man…I feel so inadequate…I’m gonna go be a fat jealous bitch and sit with rumpus and drink…
Fuck you people are bloody talented!
October 28, 2011 at 5:03 pm
There is plenty of room in the fat jealous bitch corner. However there is not plenty of booze: strictly BYOB(and muscle relaxants).
October 28, 2011 at 5:48 pm
I’m on my way to the store – requests anyone? The drinking has definitely commenced.
October 28, 2011 at 5:56 pm
2 packs of Camel Wides, 1 bottle of Rootbeer Schnapps, a 6 pack of Mickeys hand grenades, and here’s $5 for you to get something for yourself too.
Thanks, dollface.
October 28, 2011 at 4:56 pm
Wow, my entry was SO unworthy. Can’t wait to see the winner!

October 28, 2011 at 5:24 pm
Great idea, and you made him so un-O’Reilly, so… what’s the word I’m looking for, human. I could actually look at him and not feel nausea!
October 28, 2011 at 5:48 pm

And I’m still a fat, jealous loser.
October 28, 2011 at 5:08 pm
Excited AND scared…
October 28, 2011 at 5:11 pm
yay for my Dexter! We also felt it looked exactly like the ‘Hoff
October 28, 2011 at 5:25 pm
That’s who I thought it was at first. You may have carved the first multipurpose pumpkin. Congrats!
October 28, 2011 at 5:52 pm
I seriously entertained the thought of a Batista pumpkin…but knew I’d fail horribly and he’d end up looking like Gomez Addams or something…
Your Dexter is awesome. It’s like he’s going as the Hoff for halloween!
October 28, 2011 at 5:15 pm
Great hairy cheeseballs – these are some talented people here. Gonna just go get the glue and glitter for my pumpkin, and the scotch for me…..
October 28, 2011 at 5:18 pm

I bet you anything that you’re still in the running… Mine was pretty pathetic and it’s a runner up. I hope you’re one of the winners!
October 28, 2011 at 5:41 pm
You bitches are crazy amazing. I’ll just sit here with my scotch and salute the lot of you.
October 28, 2011 at 5:45 pm

October 28, 2011 at 6:04 pm
I had no idea pumpkin was such an expressive medium and I can’t believe how amazing some of these are. Very, very good work!
October 29, 2011 at 2:35 am
if you wanna see amazing pumpkins, check out Ray Villafane. He just did a wicked pumpkin last week for the NY Botanical gardens:

I love the Edgar Allan Poe pumpkin. Instantly recognisable and a fitting theme for Halloween.
We don’t get the big carving pumpkins here in New Zealand. I’m feeling just a little jealous. And immensely fat and loserish.
October 30, 2011 at 12:44 pm
Do you have a crafts store or garden center nearby? They sell fake pumpkins, some can be carved.
October 28, 2011 at 7:54 pm
Poe and Dexter are definitely my favorites. And I still think you should have done Batista-it’s just a matter of getting the hat right.
October 28, 2011 at 10:40 pm
*standing ovation* Oh you brilliant fuckers!

Carvingpumpkins.com also has some great patterns but they are more or less for those who can shade.
October 29, 2011 at 5:04 am
YAY! I was a runner up!! I feel like such a winner and a loser at the same time. Love you Regretsy!
October 29, 2011 at 12:58 pm
Same here. Never felt so mediocre before.
October 29, 2011 at 8:53 pm
Oh damn! I should have submitted mine!
