NEVER FORGETSY: THE CONTEST
As you know, I’ve been posting some Tragicrafting this week for your horror and amusement.
I’ve been focusing mainly on the ways people try to squeeze a buck out of horrible events, but there’s another aspect that fascinates me: healing through gifs.
Sparkly gifs are probably one of the most prolific areas of 9-11 Tragicrafting, and I’m not surprised. After all, everyone needs a fun way to say, “America is awesome!” or “Sorry your friends died in that building thingy.”
While there are thousands of glittery memorial snowglobes and weeping eagles on the internet, I only have the stomach to show you a handful. Please download them and put them all over your Facebook this weekend, if only to annoy the terrorists in your extended network.

Now, these are all very nicely done, but I can’t help thinking you could do better.
So I want you to make the very sparkliest gif you can and leave it in this thread. Bonus points for working in any of of the following:

- that it wasn’t planes that hit the building – but a cupids arrow sharing the love.
- that mutant seagulls and butterflies saved most of the people who jumped/fell from the building that day
AND
- that the people who didn’t get caught by above mentioned mutant butterflies and seagulls danced as they fell because they KNEW, yes THEY KNEW they would be immortalized in Tragicraft with glitter and dancing cats!

Ok…so at this late hour, I had to refresh my basic gimp skills, then I went to Blingee and could not get the stamp to drag over onto the image. Cleared my cache, my history…nothing worked. Then I went to 123 and had the choice of 4 glittery thingies and that didn’t work either…so here’s my entry…If anyone is interested in improving it, have at it.

It uses about 50MB to run, so that means I have just downloaded THREE QUARTERS OF A GIGABYTE OF IRONIC SPARKLY 9/11 GIFS. And I’ve done it THREE TIMES.

Don’t worry–I could tell immediately that he was consoling Crying Eagle. Very sweet. I was just telling a friend last night how I love Level 4 Cat and he Googled “Level 4 Cat + Regretsy” and the little furry guy popped up. He now has another fan.
This is not choking with glitter or (thank God) Bieber, and it’s so nice in its simplicity.
