I believe that these are just the first in a long line of religiously-fused with Rock-n-roll-inspired jewelery.. such as…mmm, uh… mmm…..ok… it’s a very short line of religiously-fused with Rock-n-roll-inspired jewelery.
Is it bad that I immediately thought of a good friend who all but needs these earrings? Jewish, cute, female, loves earrings, has played guitar (though not for a while from what I’ve seen), and married to a Jewish guitar player. Wait…I think I have several friends that fit that description…

OK… I seem to recall my Jewish mother FORBIDDING me to get my ears pierced because in the Torah only the slaves and the goyim had pierced ears. Or is that all 20th century now?
these are pretty nice, but whats the connection guitars and judaism and ears? although my dad is part of an ultra-orthodox rock-and-roll band (yes, there is a hasidic rabbi), women are (of course) not allowed…
Oooh! I have a friend who is a Jewish woman guitar player. But she plays classical, so doesn’t need a pick. Also, my wife won’t let me get them Hannukah presents or anything Jewish-themed, because she says it’s weird to get them Hannukah presents when we’re goyim.
It’s alright if you’re jewish and not allowed to pierce your ears (I have some friends who were in that boat) — I bet the shop owner can make you nipple rings, too! Then no one ever has to know!
@Woody- you inspired me to do some research on Phranc, and she has her own Etsy shop! With Jewish underpants! http://www.etsy.com/transaction/21983318 Tee hee hee.
guess who eats together at the carnegie deli?
susanna hoff from the bangles and arthur fonzarelli!
pink needs guitar earrings when she lights the menorah
so does janis ian and the late dinah shore-ah
i don’t think dinah shore ever played guitar. but “jewish female guitarists who rhyme with menorah” is an even smaller group.
@ #40, did you see the Neil Diamond video where he covered that? Totally awesome! Hmmm…you know, those would probably work for a *male* Jewish guitar player, if he had pierced ears. I know, I know, what nice Jewish boy has pierced ears?! Well, I didn’t say he’d have to be “nice,” so there.
Ok its the first time I’ve ever said it with a Regretsy item but if the seller makes some more I am totally buying these. Can’t imagine what they go with, though.. Maybe Etsy will provide more ideas for an outfit.
I can’t believe it. I went to my friend’s house last night, and she was showing me these earrings that she bought at Claire’s… they’re black guitar picks with Jolly Rogers on them. They reminded me of these instantly!
I now have about two dozen pairs of random guitar pick earrings in my shop (the real one) A local retired gentleman makes them…he keeps bringing me more….I can’t bear to tell him that nearly all the writing (Fender, Peavey, etc) is upside down! So if anyone wants to support senior creativity, let me know
The funny thing is is that I’m jewish.
And a guitar player.
And I’m female.
And honestly, I’m planning to buy a red pair like those.
Huh. I love coinidences.

And I couldn’t find one. :/

Jill Sobule, goddammit! JILL SOBULE!
January 18, 2011 at 1:49 pm
These would be perfect for when I sing “Song Sung Blue” on Karaoke night at the local Jewish Y.
January 18, 2011 at 1:54 pm
@woody good one, but i don’t think phranc’s part of the venn diagram includes the “wearing earrings” part
January 18, 2011 at 1:55 pm
I’m no fashion expert, but I would totally pick these for Lisa’s lobes.
January 18, 2011 at 1:56 pm
If the diagram is to scale, I believe it overestimates the number of persons within the potential market for these by about 7.

Would I have to drink MD 20/20 while wearing these?
January 18, 2011 at 4:55 pm
And you say….
I only hear what I want to
I’d wear these with glasses lowered from the ceiling.
Thanks for reminding me of a great Sarah Silverman Program moment!
