I love these little ugly dollies that crafters make. I think those that are done well are cute as shit. They remind me of Badly Drawn Girl band logo and depictions of overly loved rag dolls. Thank you for this Advent Gift Regretsy!

That being said, I gotta agree with what some people are saying. Bizzarely fugly as they may be, there’s something hugely endearing about the artist’s work.
i prefer to think that in the hereafter, you look exactly how others saw you when you were alive. in that if others saw you as kind and loving, the angel-you would be a luminous being of light and beauty. and if others saw you as wicked and mean, the angel-you would be hideously flawed.
that said…
wow.
They remind me of those bizarre apple-head dolls you see at roadside gift shops, with a wrinkled, dehydrated apple for a head. Some of the other ‘cuties’ in her shop look like they are being asphyxiated…
I too love this shop and the creatures in it. But then, when asked at a job interview what cartoon character I would be, I answered Lenore. This little angel totally reminds me of that comic.
Unfortunately the first thought that came to mind was that the Christmas tree pubes girl must have donated the angel’s hair.
And then I creeped myself out entirely by thinking that little angel is kind of cute after all. I definitely agree with the Burton-esque assessment! It almost looks like something out of Coraline (though that wasn’t actually Burton) or Corpse Bride.
Definitely adorrible. One of those little things you buy because you feel sorry for it.
And definitely to be kept out of reach of cats. We’re thinking we should set up a couple of Kitty Cams to catch one of our cats sneaking ornaments off the tree at night and batting them through the house. We just find the results every morning.
WANT. I’m in hysterics over these – they’re so far out awful that they’ve come around the other side right into fantasticland. I’m betting this chick would be an absolute HOWL to hang out with, yanno?
Oh, and thanks to all for cracking me up endlessly – Killer *and* all the amazingly wicked posters alike. It’s been a hell of a year, and I have you to thank for keeping my sanity. Or losing it long ago and no longer caring.
First thing I heard in my head when I saw this was the “WHREE-WHREE-WHREE” knifing sound from the movie “Psycho.” This would be the perfect ornament for the Christmas tree at the Bates Motel.
These really remind me of Johnen Vasquez characters. I would wonder if she they took comissions but the price is a little out of my range for novelty stuff…
Adorrible is now in my vocabulary, i even made sure that Chrome recognizes it as a real word. “Ador reeb ley” is how it’s pronounced in my head, with a super thick french accent (I think my personalities just split again). And I have to agree, I WANT… Just don’t have that kind of money to spend on an ornament. Maybe I’ll just buy one a month – maybe she should start an ‘adoribble of the month’ club?
These make me so happy…I absolutely lurrrve these damn dolls! I want this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/58126023/pumpkin-ghost?ref=v1_other_1
He would sit on my desk right next to my Dwight Shrute bobblehead. I can see my husband’s eyeroll/headshake now… *happiness*
Aside from being creepy and all, they are phenomenally creative and well done. I think the artist has lots of talent and the dolls are gorgeous in their creepiness. Ugly doesn’t always mean bad. Look at Hieronymus Bosch’s paintings as one example…

HOLY FUCK!
GUAAAAAHH! D8
December 21, 2010 at 1:37 pm
We should count our blessings that she’s an angel. Usually victims of freak chemical accidents return in a much less benign guise.
December 21, 2010 at 1:42 pm
“ooak, of course”.
No…really? I thought it was a Hallmark Keepsake Ornament?
December 21, 2010 at 1:43 pm
This “orphan” is having a massive stroke.
December 21, 2010 at 1:43 pm

December 21, 2010 at 1:45 pm
This looks very Tim Burton-y to me
December 21, 2010 at 1:45 pm
Christ on a bike, this one should have come with a “Brace yourself” warning, I nearly shrieked at my desk.
After I calmed down I decided it was adorably horrible. I want one.

Needle Felt; The stuff that nightmares are made from.
December 21, 2010 at 1:46 pm
So THATS what hit my windshield earlier. Silly me I thought it was a bug…
December 21, 2010 at 1:46 pm
Everytime a bell rings, and angel gets its wings. That rule apparently applies to even the fugliest of angels.
December 21, 2010 at 1:47 pm
I kind of like the fact that EVERYTHING in her shop looks like it’s having a massive aneurysm.
December 21, 2010 at 1:48 pm
She grows up to be “The Toxic Avenger!!!”
December 21, 2010 at 1:49 pm
she can see into forever. well, halfway into forever.

“In the sixth month, the angel Genital-nose was sent from Papermoongallery to a person of Etsy in the world…”

Fan-fucking-tastic!

Somebody call child services, that “angel” is being abused. Horribly.
December 21, 2010 at 1:53 pm
That being said, I gotta agree with what some people are saying. Bizzarely fugly as they may be, there’s something hugely endearing about the artist’s work.

I dunno… I’m pretty sure this is awesome.
December 21, 2010 at 2:04 pm
OMG!! I love it!!! It’s actually…I mean…it’s really adorable!!
December 21, 2010 at 2:06 pm
Walking that uncanny valley between “outright fugly” and “so fugly it’s cute.”
December 21, 2010 at 2:06 pm

December 21, 2010 at 2:08 pm
If that thing showed up on my tree I’d just assume Christmas was canceled.
December 21, 2010 at 2:17 pm
I kinda love it. A lot. I think this lady is going to be pleasantly surprised by her sales in the next little while.
December 21, 2010 at 2:18 pm
It’s actually cute in a pitiful sort of way…just not $50+shipping worth of cute.
December 21, 2010 at 2:18 pm
Awww….the face that only a mother could love. Oh, um, oopsie. Never mind.
December 21, 2010 at 2:23 pm
Looks like the visual punchline to this old joke:

December 21, 2010 at 2:24 pm
I’ve liked this shop for a long time.
December 21, 2010 at 2:29 pm
eff me, but I love everything there.
Thanks, HK!
#29 LeeLoo, why didn’t you share it, girl?
December 21, 2010 at 2:44 pm
I have found my boyfriend’s valentine:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/64603079/holly-the-heart
(well, if I had $50)
He just asked if I want to ensure he will never sleep again.
December 21, 2010 at 3:06 pm
Ah, I always wondered what happened to the enslaved pod people from The Dark Crystal when they died.
December 21, 2010 at 3:10 pm
These are awesome, but I’m more of a traditional ornament kind of girl. That angel would totally rough up great-grandma’s velveteen lion and cat.
December 21, 2010 at 3:14 pm
I’m sure someone will adopt this “orphan” quite soon!
December 21, 2010 at 3:23 pm
They remind me of those bizarre apple-head dolls you see at roadside gift shops, with a wrinkled, dehydrated apple for a head. Some of the other ‘cuties’ in her shop look like they are being asphyxiated…
Come to think of it, they kind of remind me of Aughra from the Dark Crystal-

I would think Jack London would have the same expression as he beats off wolves.
December 21, 2010 at 3:47 pm
I too love this shop and the creatures in it. But then, when asked at a job interview what cartoon character I would be, I answered Lenore. This little angel totally reminds me of that comic.
What can I say, I am a strange and unusual girl.
December 21, 2010 at 3:48 pm
#7 GreySkye: After I calmed down I decided it was adorably horrible.
“Adorrible”!!!
…And I like it, too. As someone mentioned, it has a total Tim Burton vibe.
December 21, 2010 at 3:55 pm
Unfortunately the first thought that came to mind was that the Christmas tree pubes girl must have donated the angel’s hair.
And then I creeped myself out entirely by thinking that little angel is kind of cute after all. I definitely agree with the Burton-esque assessment! It almost looks like something out of Coraline (though that wasn’t actually Burton) or Corpse Bride.
December 21, 2010 at 4:01 pm
Tim Burtonesque, yes! But, they also remind me of the Gnashlycrumb Tinies. They are definitely adorably macabre!
December 21, 2010 at 4:05 pm
I love it! Not spend-$50-on-it love it, but I love it!
December 21, 2010 at 4:19 pm
These are awesome. Love them.
December 21, 2010 at 4:26 pm
Maybe someone in China can rip it off so we can get one for six bucks from Hot Topic.
December 21, 2010 at 4:44 pm
If Hanukkah Harry and Santa Claus hadn’t tag-teamed my bank accounts, I’d be all over this like white on rice.
December 21, 2010 at 5:32 pm
. . .and soon, Tim Burton and Helena Bonham-Carter will notice that their Christmas tree is missing an ornament or two.
December 21, 2010 at 5:39 pm
I am deeply in love with everything in that store. Screamed with laughter when I saw the orphan angel – DEFINITELY adorrible.
December 21, 2010 at 5:53 pm
I would put that on the tree in an instant, but the cats would think it’s a toy for them and it would be shredded shortly thereafter.
December 21, 2010 at 6:04 pm
Definitely adorrible. One of those little things you buy because you feel sorry for it.
And definitely to be kept out of reach of cats. We’re thinking we should set up a couple of Kitty Cams to catch one of our cats sneaking ornaments off the tree at night and batting them through the house. We just find the results every morning.
December 21, 2010 at 6:58 pm
WANT. I’m in hysterics over these – they’re so far out awful that they’ve come around the other side right into fantasticland. I’m betting this chick would be an absolute HOWL to hang out with, yanno?
December 21, 2010 at 6:58 pm
Finally! Ornaments I’d actually hang on my tree! If I had a tree. If I hadn’t eaten it last year. Are these edible??
December 21, 2010 at 7:58 pm
I’d buy this seller out in a minute if I only had the money! Her stuff is awesome! And “adoribble” is a great word, thanks!
December 21, 2010 at 9:38 pm
Longtime lurker, finally inspired to post here.
This seller is definitely adorrible!
I think I shall begin my ‘Plants vs. Zombies’ inspired tree with these:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/63982625/the-christmas-mushroom?ref=v1_other_2
and
http://www.etsy.com/listing/58793353/zach-the-zombie
(Really, it’s all about the mushroom tho’.)
Now to scrape up 110.00 for two ornaments…this PvZ tree might take a while.
December 21, 2010 at 9:40 pm
Oh, and thanks to all for cracking me up endlessly – Killer *and* all the amazingly wicked posters alike. It’s been a hell of a year, and I have you to thank for keeping my sanity. Or losing it long ago and no longer caring.
December 21, 2010 at 9:50 pm
$50? Like hell! If I wanted a creepy, bug-eyed ornament I’d hang a picture of Marty Feldman on my tree!
December 21, 2010 at 10:13 pm
It’s the Island of Misfit Ornaments
December 21, 2010 at 10:15 pm
I love her freaks! Don’t like her prices, tho.
December 21, 2010 at 10:24 pm
I’m in love with this hideous little thing. If I had enough money to waste, I’d be all for it
December 21, 2010 at 10:35 pm
First thing I heard in my head when I saw this was the “WHREE-WHREE-WHREE” knifing sound from the movie “Psycho.” This would be the perfect ornament for the Christmas tree at the Bates Motel.

This is very Tim Burton-y…I actually really like it!

#6 Knit Wolf..I just saw your comment. Funny how we worded it the same way =)
December 22, 2010 at 12:18 am
Oh no. Definitely adorrible. I love her and it sorta stings.
December 22, 2010 at 12:45 am
I agree with all of you who think this ornament rocks steady. I know at least 5 people who’d LOVE getting this in their stocking.
December 22, 2010 at 1:23 am
i LOVE this!!! it’s creepy and wierd and psychotic and i fucking WANNIT!! buggered if i’m paying the shipping, though :/
December 22, 2010 at 2:33 am
This looks like the orphan angel from the island of Misfit Toys
December 22, 2010 at 3:13 am
It’s strangely cute, wouldn’t want it anywhere near my Christmas though.
December 22, 2010 at 5:42 am
A-gore-able. Ahhhahahahaha. But yeah, I want it.
December 22, 2010 at 5:55 am
I love each and every one. I only wish I had the money to buy ‘em!
December 22, 2010 at 6:38 am
These really remind me of Johnen Vasquez characters. I would wonder if she they took comissions but the price is a little out of my range for novelty stuff…
December 22, 2010 at 7:35 am
that is so frighteningly cute… like a kitten with two heads (and one of them is biting off your face…)
December 22, 2010 at 8:17 am
I was only half awake when I clicked on that. Then my eyes bugged out of my head and I choked on my tongue.
Now I am wide awake and I look just like the angel.
December 22, 2010 at 12:25 pm
Adorrible is now in my vocabulary, i even made sure that Chrome recognizes it as a real word. “Ador reeb ley” is how it’s pronounced in my head, with a super thick french accent (I think my personalities just split again). ADORE Santa – http://www.etsy.com/listing/64414560/santa-ornie
Looks like the illustrations from the kids’ book, Are You Grumpy Santa? (BEST kids’ Christmas book – I love reading it)
But yeah – this angel is a bit….um…..creepier than I’d like on my tree….lmao
December 22, 2010 at 6:38 pm
Looks like this orphan angel survived a night out at the local biker gang’s clubhouse. I think she was the entertainment.
December 22, 2010 at 7:19 pm
For something so creepy it is so cute.
December 23, 2010 at 11:01 am
Gaaaah! Kill it with fire!
December 23, 2010 at 6:33 pm
These make me so happy…I absolutely lurrrve these damn dolls! I want this one:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/58126023/pumpkin-ghost?ref=v1_other_1
He would sit on my desk right next to my Dwight Shrute bobblehead. I can see my husband’s eyeroll/headshake now… *happiness*
December 24, 2010 at 7:44 pm
Aside from being creepy and all, they are phenomenally creative and well done. I think the artist has lots of talent and the dolls are gorgeous in their creepiness. Ugly doesn’t always mean bad. Look at Hieronymus Bosch’s paintings as one example…
December 24, 2010 at 8:06 pm
It just occurred to me that these characters look like people from World of Goo game!
May 5, 2011 at 1:17 pm
It looks like a bus ran over its mid-section, causing the organs to act like a rolled up toothpaste.
