No joke, it looks like a Louisville Stoneware style mug. If truly interested, you could probably contact them directly. I have a set of custom painted china from them.
Remotely related: I was in a Quiz Bowl tournament in college, in the middle of a toss-up question someone from my team buzzed in and said “Monet”. The moderator said it’s wrong and kept reading. At the end of the question the other team said “It is Monet”. The moderator said “It’s Monnit you idiots, there is no A in Monnit”.
I love to wrap the shit out of a package as much as the next girl, especially if it’s breakable – but I’m struggling to understand why it would cost $13. to ship ONE coffee mug within the USA. The damned thing better crawl out of the box on its own for that money.
I gave up ceramics years ago. I took a “class” with my daughters. It wasn’t a class so much as it was a place for which to do random projects and spend an ungodly amount of money on supplies.
While others did flower coffee mugs, garden gnomes and shit, my daughters and I were doing skull mugs, dragons, frogs and lizards and other kinds of shit.
You’re safe in assuming we sat alone in that classroom.
when i was in college in Boston we had a professor who was local. the ongoing joke was that the final exam would be to phonetically spell the artists’ names as he pronounced them.
it’s very hard to keep a straight face when someone is saying “Schiele” or “Degas” with a thick Southie accent
Our paper has a gardening booklet section every week, where they talk about well-known figures in the gardening world, but since I’m not that into gardening, I rarely recognize any names. Is it bad that I, a former art-history major, actually wracked my brains for a minute or two trying to remember if I’d ever heard of a gardener named Monte? Before I thought of Monet?
Now I’m wondering if Jimmy Hoffa is buried in Monte’s garden…:-O
I was wondering if these are any better than the dollar store mugs with that special Cadmium-flavored paint on them. For the price I’d like something to poison guests little quicker.

I’d love to order the book, but if they can’t ship until June 25th, it will be too late for my garden.
October 21, 2010 at 4:55 pm
Not bad, but I prefer the works of Edward Manatee, Edgar Degsa & Pee-air Renwar.

Sweet! Monte’s garden has that extra-special happy plant – marijuana. I’ve heard it gives you thoughts of pretty little flowers….
October 21, 2010 at 5:03 pm
Personally, I *love* the distinct smell of Monte’s chicory.
October 21, 2010 at 5:13 pm
I want to know who the other two guys are in the thumbnails.
October 21, 2010 at 5:25 pm
Would like to see a Monte’s Inferno inspired cocoa mug in this series.

Personally, I enjoy the scatalogical samplings of Pikurasso.
You never know what you will find when you Pikurasso.
October 21, 2010 at 5:34 pm
I prefer Vinnie Van Goth. No one airbrushes a wizard on the side of a windowless van like he does!
October 21, 2010 at 5:35 pm
@7-Grot, Pikurasso was pretty full of shit , but man oh man could he ever draw & paint.

He looks like the Three Card one, all right.

She wants $20 plus another 13 bucks for something that screams “amateur, and not particularly talented”. Talk about being mugged.
October 21, 2010 at 7:23 pm
And the photograph is staged with plastic plants, too.
October 21, 2010 at 7:32 pm
This isn’t the best time of the year for gardens. You have to wait for summer and the full-bloom Monte.
@Patty-I totally would have sat with you!
October 21, 2010 at 8:09 pm
Do we get the “Full Monty” monte??
October 21, 2010 at 8:15 pm
It’s a cute mug, but I see no Monet in that at all. Blur that jazz up a bit and them we can talk Monet.
October 21, 2010 at 8:41 pm
perfect cup for eating some del monte fruit
October 21, 2010 at 9:07 pm
The only way this mediocre mug is worth $20 + $13 shipping is if it’s stuffed with some bud.

Both the people in the ‘Frequently Bought Together’ need to be Bond villains. NOW.

HK, the fuckery just keeps getting better and better. Thanks for a great snort and chortle on a rainy Friday morning.

…is that Michael Kors chompin’ on a spliff in the third book thumbnail?
October 22, 2010 at 11:06 am
It’s too focused to be Monet, sheesh. Doesn’t she know her classics?
October 22, 2010 at 3:10 pm
Perhaps she means that it was made in art class here?

So I just stumbled upon this site… was laughing my… backside… off.
Then I noticed you were logged in as “April Winchell” in that second picture. I went “WHAT? No way!!!” and did a little search to make sure.
What DON’T you do that I don’t instantly love?
