@Bills-You made me laugh so hard the water I was drinking came out my nose. Perhaps Charles Bronson and the shark are fighting over the T-Rex? Who knows what goes on in the minds of alchemy requesters.
Greetings! I am the original poster of the alchemy request. I was not baiting for regretsy, I am perfectly serious (if a little poor, sorry I couldn’t front anymore than the $80). The back story is that I had been taunting my boyfriend about an upcoming birthday present, and he remarked, “I bet you just went on etsy and commissioned a painting of Charles Bronson fighting a shark with a T-Rex in the background.” Three of his favorite things. DONE. @#27 kirstenrana, you are amazing.
These, er, unusual requests that keep appearing have caused me to wonder the intended purpose of the artwork. Is this a crowning jewel in an existing environmental setting, or more of an inspiration piece, around which a whole room will be designed?
@#13 rissawinkwink-
At least you know what you like.
I’d personally prefer David Carradine jello wrestling a white tiger while a fluffy golden retriever looks on, in the shape of an octagon, but that’s me.
If the golden retriever had a game of poker going on, all the better for me too.
Wow, totertot – I bet if you felt like it, you could sell this on Etsy for at *least* $1,000. You really made Charles Bronson happen in your artistic ability!
August 20, 2010 at 9:35 am
Perhaps I have been on this site too long, but this seems perfectly reasonable to me.
August 20, 2010 at 9:35 am
phffft.
charles bronson is like 126 years old.
now, chuck norris CLEARLY beating the heck out of a shark…now THAT’S a picture i’d pay for.
August 20, 2010 at 9:35 am
I think the woman who did the Lady Gaga painting should just make a listing on her page in a You, Justin Bieber, Unicorn fashion.
August 20, 2010 at 9:36 am
Charles Bronson (November 3, 1921 – August 30, 2003)
shoulda googled it first. go on thumb downers…
August 20, 2010 at 9:38 am
Maybe the seller should move here.

August 20, 2010 at 9:39 am
I think this would be even better as a flip book.
August 20, 2010 at 9:41 am
Whoa, the big spender is willing to pay TWO figures for this you guys!!
August 20, 2010 at 9:41 am
Seller? I meant requestor. In true Homer Simpson fashion…D’OH!
August 20, 2010 at 9:41 am
Is this for some kind of Day of Remembrance thing? Because I’d totally go to that memorial.
August 20, 2010 at 9:42 am
I’d pay $80 to have the guy from 27bslash6 put something together. Except I kinda like eating things higher on the food chain than ramen.
August 20, 2010 at 9:42 am
Will this fight be taking place on dry land or in an aquatic venue? Will the T-Rex be wearing a cheer squad uniform or just it’s scaly hide?
Once again I find it kind of sad that these are the first questions that come to my mind. Well, inquiring minds want to know.
August 20, 2010 at 9:42 am
I wonder if this person saw the brilliant Mr. T-fighting-Teddy-Roosevelt Photoshop and is doing a little Regretsy baiting hoping for a free result.
August 20, 2010 at 9:44 am
I’m thinking that the Tyrannosaurs should be playing with himself. Except for the short arms, this would work.
August 20, 2010 at 9:45 am
Um, Lady Gaga fetched $350. Pony up, or you’ll merely end up with Robert Pattinson fighting a trout.
August 20, 2010 at 9:45 am
“…with all his might…”
Uh, excuse me, but Charles-fucking-Bronson wouldn’t have to use “all his might” to beat anything.
He’s Charles-fucking-Bronson!
August 20, 2010 at 9:46 am
Charles Bronson is the poor man’s Chuck Norris. It’s about time he got the recognition he deserves!
August 20, 2010 at 9:48 am
I’m thinking his insistance to have it CLEARLY Charles Bronson springs from his having seen the Daniel Radcliffe portrait a few posts back.
August 20, 2010 at 9:48 am

August 20, 2010 at 9:48 am
I think it’s a spiffy idea, but only $80? Blargh.
August 20, 2010 at 9:51 am
We should be grateful for small favours. At least they’re not fighting over who gets to eat the placenta.
August 20, 2010 at 9:51 am
I’m sorry I was born in 1985. *goes to google/wiki/netflix!!!
August 20, 2010 at 9:52 am
I would like a painting of Charles Bronson fighting the person who listed this….while I watch in the background.
August 20, 2010 at 10:01 am
There is a rule with sharks.
After you jump the shark, you cannot beat it up.
August 20, 2010 at 10:05 am
I’m pretty sure this was the proposed plot of the “Death Wish VI” project that was canceled when Mr. Bronson passed away.
(FYI, I attended the same Philadelphia art school that Charles Bronson attended. Many years later, of course.)
August 20, 2010 at 10:07 am
I beat the heck out of a shark one time.
oh no wait – that was a kitten. nevermind.
August 20, 2010 at 10:21 am
This idea was so wonderful and amazing, I needed to make my own version. Now it’s my wallpaper.

@kirstenrana I <3 you so much. Your Chuckie shark beatitude brought a tear to my bleached out eye. You are wonderful and amazing.

Looks like that same person who wanted Lady Gaga eating a unicorn is starting an art museum.
August 20, 2010 at 10:45 am
The shark raped his daughter and the T-Rex killed his family. Backstory.
August 20, 2010 at 10:55 am
The person requesting this has a rich fantasy life.
#27 kirstenrana :
fantastic piece of work!

“That painting really tied the room together”
August 20, 2010 at 12:33 pm
Oooh, I want that painting on a shirt!

Yay Skully and Vedd! I think i have a crush on both of you in your artistic ability!
August 21, 2010 at 12:54 am
I saw this request earlier today while browsing Etsy and my first thought was, “this had goddamned better make it to Regretsy.”
August 21, 2010 at 9:09 am
Skully and V.E.D.D., you rock my world with your artistic ability!
August 21, 2010 at 4:08 pm
I’m disappointed to see the alchemy request was removed. Here’s my contribution. Just a sketch, mind you.
