Comic Con

Well, my first Comic Con was fantastic. It was a lot like Halloween; except the kids were grown ups, and instead of candy, everyone was drunk. But other than that, very close.

I mainly went to do do a book signing and do a voice over panel, both of which were a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out to say hello. Meeting you guys is the part I enjoy the most about all of this. Well, that and making fun of people.

Here’s a view of the room from where I was sitting when I took my place on the panel. This is maybe about a third of the room; there were over 2,000 people in there. I was so distracted that I didn’t actually read this little sign, which reminded us that there would be people in the audience under the age of 18. Fortunately, I completely forgot to tell my hilarious story about the woman we saw in Amsterdam, who drew a picture of Homer Simpson with a Magic Marker shoved up her bajingo.

Looking down the dais at the other people on the panel: Fred Tatasciore, Gregg Berger, Tom Kane, Jason Marsden, Candyce Milo and Chuck McCann.

When the panel ended, I was delighted to be asked to sign autographs for people. I did not sign any racks, but I was asked to sign a drawing of a Wookiee, which I’m still wondering about. I also signed a picture of Charlie Brown, a Spider-Man book, and a photo of William Shatner. So either people were out of paper, or they have a completely distorted view of my accomplishments.

Whatever, Mary

Someone on Facebook sent this to me the other day, and I was absolutely thrilled.

I think it’s pretty clear how similar I am to Mary J. Blige, and it’s about time people were noticing. In fact, I like to think of myself as a white Mary J. Blige, only without much musical ability and not as interesting.

And the fact that Mary and I are both resonating with the same people who like Michelle Obama is very gratifying. It means that I am finally reaching my core demographic: middle aged black women who hate handcrafts.

In other news, I’m at Comic Con in San Diego! If you’re down here,, please come and see me. I’ll be the one in the blonde weave, singing No More Drama.

If you miss either of those events, you’ll probably see me wandering around in my cosplay outfits. You know how I feel about Naruto*.
