Comic Con
Well, my first Comic Con was fantastic. It was a lot like Halloween; except the kids were grown ups, and instead of candy, everyone was drunk. But other than that, very close.
I mainly went to do do a book signing and do a voice over panel, both of which were a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out to say hello. Meeting you guys is the part I enjoy the most about all of this. Well, that and making fun of people.
Here’s a view of the room from where I was sitting when I took my place on the panel. This is maybe about a third of the room; there were over 2,000 people in there. I was so distracted that I didn’t actually read this little sign, which reminded us that there would be people in the audience under the age of 18. Fortunately, I completely forgot to tell my hilarious story about the woman we saw in Amsterdam, who drew a picture of Homer Simpson with a Magic Marker shoved up her bajingo.
Looking down the dais at the other people on the panel: Fred Tatasciore, Gregg Berger, Tom Kane, Jason Marsden, Candyce Milo and Chuck McCann.
When the panel ended, I was delighted to be asked to sign autographs for people. I did not sign any racks, but I was asked to sign a drawing of a Wookiee, which I’m still wondering about. I also signed a picture of Charlie Brown, a Spider-Man book, and a photo of William Shatner. So either people were out of paper, or they have a completely distorted view of my accomplishments.

If only I were there. You could have signed my Clarabell Cow tattoo.

Wait, Homer Simpson is a man, how could he shove anything up… Oh.

I love the photos and your captions were fantastic.
There’s a Con coming to a *town nearby but I can’t imagine that it will be anywhere close to as awesome as this one appears to be.
*Edgerton, WI. Its called- wait for it- EDGE-CON. Yeah.

The photos are really neat and your adventure was a ball to watch even if only via pictures. Thank you for sharing.
No one is confused about your accomplishments they just lose reason and logic because they are blinded by the warmth of your snark.

I am starting to feel kind of stalker-ish, April.

@Creepydolls, tell me about it. I felt like I was following her and Bronc around. I should have stayed on her long enough to see you though.

RE: The Bag People: They sprung forth from the old Fandango commercials they played before the trailers at the cinema.
RE: Chicken Legs: Stop taking her picture and call the CDC, for Christ’s sake. She’s got pukey yellow fungus fur growing on her legs.

I took some video of April’s panel on my cell phone. Unfortunately something went wrong halfway through the first Cinderella clip. It’s kind of tragic, since it was awesomely funny, but hey you can watch the first four minutes of it.

Charlie Brown? Did they think you voiced Lucy?
“Good grief”
Looks like you and Bronc (and Suda and Creepy Dolls) had a wonderful time! Love you in the storm troooper back pack, Helen!

Best description, ever.

I know I sound like a broken record but goddamn, you have beautiful skin. According to Wikipedia, you’re 17 years older than I am and yet I’d punch that chick who wrote Twilight in the head to look as glowy as you do.
. . .okay, maybe I just want to punch her in the head for writing Twilight. But still! Please tell me makeup is involved so I can retain some self-esteem.

1. Thank you for spelling Wookiee correctly. The people working for Lucasfilm can’t even seem to spell it.
2. The chick in the “sailor moon” photo is Matsumoto from the anime Bleach. Sadly, that’s exactly how the character dresses, except her breasts are about H cups.
3. I’m such a little fangirl over all the voice actors. These people are my celebrities. Who cares about Brangelina when I could be hearing about Tress MacNeille and Jess Harnell’s new roles.
You, Tom and Charlie…

Stupid maximum characters.

Wish I had been there, it looks like it was a blast! April, you’re awesome!

Orlana – if you like the picture of April and Tom Kenny – you should listen to them off April’s old radio show. It should still be accessable at aprilwinchell.com

I am going to Wizard World Con in Chicago next month. It’ll be my first convention, so hopefully it’s not too overwhelming. I checked for April’s name on the list of guests, but it’s not there
July 26, 2010 at 2:48 pm
Oh what fun! I’ve never seen anything like that before. Such talented people. Is that Cinderella thing on anywhere else? I’d love to see it all.
July 26, 2010 at 3:27 pm
if and when you come to DC, April, I promise you can sign my rack if that would make you happy. let’s just say the ink in your pen will not suddenly go dry (you know how if you’re writing with a pen pointed up it….aw fergit it).

Jeez Louise! I look I’m in the early stages of OBM (Old British Man)Syndrome.(ref:Sir Paul McCartney/Sir John Gielgud/Sir Julia Child)
At least the Effin’ hair is my own Beautiful Choice. (Gary Owens would COMPLETELY understand.)
Sriously, it was an honor sharing the stage with you. I am in awe of your, well, awesomeness. (Which sounds just a little too self-serving somehow. But I’m an actor, so what would you expect?
July 26, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Tom, you were amazing. Was that Morgan Freeman you did in one of the narrator reads? You were so fast and so good. What a pleasure to FINALLY work with you!

Crazy! After Comic Con I felt inspired to search etsy for some cute handmade superhero stuff. When what I found was primarily crap (big surprise), I remembered that I hadn’t been to regretsy in ages—and worlds collided when I saw this and realized the genius behind this site is also the genius I just saw in the cartoon voice panel. Wish I’d known then! I’d actually met a few people on the panel via Pat Fraley’s classes/Buzzy’s. Cue “It’s a Small World.”

So THAT’S what Fred Tatasciore looks like. I’ve always wondered that… *hmmm* Ever since Invader Zim. What else has Fred done voices for? /nerdrant
