I’ve been loving all the Trek-related whimsicleness lately. I’m inspired. Perhaps I should add to my amigurumi repertoire w/some popular Starfleet officers…
I love this seller as well. I ordered her Meerkat nativity after seeing it on Etsy, and it came super fast, and was even more adorable than pictured. My sister totally loved them
(My cats also loved them too, before we learned to put them out of reach)
“I have a confession to make. I love this meerkat. And I love this seller. I realize you aren’t used to this level of warmth from me, but it’s Captain Picard Day.” -HK
Oh, Helen – to quote the Borg Queen: “Brave words. I’ve heard them before, from thousands of species across thousands of worlds, since long before you were created. But, now they are all etsy sellers.”
i just snagged him! i’m so excited. my uncle, an old school trekkie, always finds us the most incredibly weird and awesome gifts every year for xmas. this year, i’ve got him beat.
Patty, I’m a Cyborg Sapiens, too, except I was assimilated three years and three months ago. So I’ve had more time to learn just how much fun it is to never, ever be able to just walk through a metal detector again without setting the damn thing off. Sigh…
I will now have to figure out the best way to celebrate the rest of Captain Picard Day.
OK, I don’t think it’s all that darn cute. But I do love the seller.
Could it be that for once there is an etsy seller who (obviously) doesn’t take him/herself too seriously? I mean this is clearly a self spoofing joke, right?
Hey, me three, I’m a cyborg-sapiens as well. Both my legs. No cool flashing red lights though, unless I’m at airport security, and then woe to all who are in line behind me.
I took my eldest son to his first Star Trek Convention in Sacramento when he was 3. I listened to those well rounded vowels as Patrick Stewart spoke , and Jon watched, mesmerized to the whole hour or more Mr Stewart had the stage and took questions. Later that day as we were leaving Jon sat on my shoulders as we walked out the door and saw Mr. Stewart getting into his limo. “Goodbye Captain Picard!” my son yelled waving his arm wildly. He looked over and smiled and waved “Goodbye.” he…
Let me tell you sometime about the first convention I went to at age 18 when I ran across the hall in the middle of the night in my underwear to grab ice from the ice machine directly across the hall and the door to my hotel room slammed shut and locked just as Walter Koenig rounded the corner with me pulling on the door handle frantically.
Lets all go on the enterprise
And take a nice long trip!
There aren’t any bathrooms
On this here fancy ship
But they have a holodeck
Where you can do your duty;
Just stand up when the program ends
or you’ll fall on your patootie!
Helen – you need to pitch a Meerkat Starship stop-action show to Comedy Central. Considering how riveting meerkat’s in the wild were on Animal Planet, how much better would they be IN SPACE??!!

MY BRETHREN!!
I became a Cyborg Sapien one year, two months and two days ago. That red flashy thing is always the dead giveaway.
By the way, the walker I used during physical therapy and recovery was named Captain Jean-Luc Picard. And yes, I called him by name.

ok……. so here I am with a Star Wars link, I apologize, but when I saw him the other day he melted my heart. We don’t usually, as a rule, have warm fuzzy day so it went without a spotlight til now.

May 20, 2010 at 2:55 pm
The Borg are a close-knit band, especially as meerkats.
May 20, 2010 at 3:05 pm
I can’t lie, the meerkats are growing on me. I think I’m going soft.
May 20, 2010 at 3:06 pm

May 20, 2010 at 3:41 pm
I’ve had a soft squishy spot in my heart for those meerkats for a while now. My doctor says it’s nothing to worry about.

Now, a crocheted meerkat Vogon…well, it wouldn’t be cute, but it would be freakin’ hilarious!

Resistance is futile. You will be forced to listen to bad poetry. As soon as the paperwork comes through.
May 20, 2010 at 9:58 pm
yes…the Zanti Misfits…an episode of Outer Limits still guarenteed to make you piss yourself while you sleep for like a month after.

In my mind the worst of these bad overpriced Etsy sellers are just Ferengi merchants.
