From Lauren:
I couldn’t resist buying the recently regretsyed Captain Picard doll.
I bought it mainly because it reminded me of the doll made by one of the children on the Enterprise in the episode “The Pegasus” where there is a “Captain Picard Day” held.
Doll is posing with the paused scenes in the episode.

You rock, Lauren!

An arts and crafts fair featuring Starfleet officers in the worst possible likeness?
Make it so.
May 20, 2010 at 9:36 am
That’s awesome. You are a far more superior geek than I am, because I didn’t recognize the doll for what it truly was.
May 20, 2010 at 9:37 am
Oh my Gawd, I think I just had a nerd-gasm.
May 20, 2010 at 9:40 am
Ok, this is an episode I’ve got to rewatch, it’s been too long!!
May 20, 2010 at 9:41 am
That was awesome, nerd to the tenth power.

To reach new levels of nerdy-dom, Lauren must build a diorama for which the plush Picard can live.

Campaign for the mayor of my city to declare an actual “Captain Picard Day” begins…nnnnow.

Seconded. All in favor?
May 20, 2010 at 9:55 am
Well, THAT’S accomplished! What’s next on my list?
Hmmm, Cure cancer.
That should be a piece of cake.

You realize we’re going to let down our critics–where’s our celebrated meanness in this thread?
Is Riker holding Picard inappropriately?
May 20, 2010 at 10:01 am
“Now Billy, show the nice judge where Captain Picard touched himself.”
May 20, 2010 at 10:02 am
I so don’t remember this episode. Off to usenet!
May 20, 2010 at 10:06 am
I vote for the diorama. AND a stop-motion animation for YouTube.

#14 – the bit with “Captain Picard Day” was in the teaser before the credits and the rest of the episode didn’t have kids in it at all and was about something completely different. (I thought this was the episode where there was a disaster on the ship and Troi was stuck on the bridge in command. It isn’t).

[Psst! It's 'Worf'.]
I love that I’m not the only weirdo who pauses the teevee and takes pictures of the screen.

Here’s the video. The clip starts with a focus on the doll itself.

Whoo-hoo! Now i’ll be going around imitating Picard all day.
Make it so.
Engage.

thanks Bills, I didn’t remember it
May 20, 2010 at 11:48 am
Riker’s making the doll talk isn’t he?
“Hello, I’m Captain Picard! There are four lights! Make it so!”
May 20, 2010 at 12:02 pm
With that little black mouth, the Picard doll reminds me of Klaus Nomi:

Captain Picard has a look of distain on his face for the original doll now that he’s seen the regretsy one.
May 20, 2010 at 1:57 pm
I love it when Riker’s a smart ass. Hell i love it when anyone’s a smart ass.

Has anyone ever seen them in the same place at the same time?

Oh my heavens, the visiting admiral is Terry O’Quinn, otherwise known as Locke on Lost! A much younger and thinner Terry O’Quinn with hair, it must be added.
I can’t remember if this admiral turns evil, but since it seemed to happen with most Starfleet admirals, it must have been good practice for him to turn into the Man In Black….
