All this time, Christians thought they were Jesus’ flock of innocent little sheep and he cared for them and led them to greener pastures and stuff. But the truth has been revealed…we’re just his pets, to whom he gives bad haircuts and plays meaningless games of fetch, and we hump his leg even though sometimes he forgets to feed us and occasionally whacks us on the ass with a newspaper when we piss him off.
This trav-etsy totally pisses me off. There is no way an artisan can compete with a factory churning this junk out at these prices. If Etsy wants to continue on this path , why don’t they just get real and open a separate division for the resellers instead of hiding behind pretend ignorance?
If you’re going to re-sell something, the least you could do is be accurate of what your selling. Unless there is a flock of poodles being led by a bedazzled shepard somewhere.
At least she didn’t say the hearts were livers or something.
@mazumi-
Im guessing a sweater necklace denotes where it was made? She “sweat her” balls off making this in horrid sweat shop in Eastern Asia, would be my guess.
Buy local, handmade goods, people. This shop is like an Etsy oxymoron.
Now, that explains it! I had a wool sweater that caused me to itch, A LOT! I thought I’d developed a sensitivity to sheep’s wool. But, it turns out, I’m allergic to dogs.
What tends to piss me off the most about these resellers is the sheer amount of sales they get on this HANDMADE ARTISAN site! This woman’s shop has been open since the beginning of *this* month, and yet she has 83 sales!! That’s almost twice my sales, and I’ve been on Etsy since 2007!
Well there was that story in the sun about posh Japanese ladies who’d been fooled into buying sheep in poodle’s clothing… But the story itself turned out to be a scam.
“This woman’s shop has been open since the beginning of *this* month, and yet she has 83 sales!!”
Kitcameo, I think that’s a trick that’s migrated over from eBay. There are rings of people who engage in purchases from each other, with the sole purpose to jack their feedback score. That might be the case here–IMO of course!
KitCameo, she had 83 sales and only 17 feedback, it’s called “shilling” she’s either having her friends buy for her and bump her sales, or has several sock puppet accounts under different e mails and purchasing from herself, my guess it the feedback is also not real cutomers, be proud of your own HANDMADE sales and creative talent, better than being a scammer/skeezy hack ripping off people and a ton of sales-quality not quantity!
@IsUs & SuperSnark – Thanks, I feel better about it now. At least it restores some of my faith in humanity I do wish Etsy would hurry up and get rid of these resellers, though! I mean, monkeysnmermaids is still around, and there is no WAY she isn’t a reseller. Even if she weren’t, she’s still stealing copyrighted designs!
#69 @ ms Christy-I wonder how Etsy ‘continues to vigorously maintain’ their so called high standards? They continue to crawl with resellers and factory made mass produced junk.Monkeys n mermaids removed the 1 item in question but the shop is filled to the brim exclusively with this shit, and the seller has lied through her teeth about having had a ‘hand’ in making them. That is maintaining high standards? So if an item is flagged & dropped ,does the admin. go back in the closet to count…
cont.-their $$$$, their percentage/cut , & let the remaining shit for resale stay until they’re caught again? This does not reflect standards of any kind except profit above all else, & is a giant slap in the face & shit in the eye of people that actually make what they sell.
Holy Reseller Batman! This just makes me sad. There are so many awesome jewelry makers on Etsy, who make it all themselves.
Dear Etsy, get your act together please.

Baaaad description.
April 26, 2010 at 9:37 am
If this guy invites you to his house for lambchops, don’t go.
April 26, 2010 at 9:38 am
I now desperately want to frolic in a field of fluffy standard poodles.
April 26, 2010 at 9:38 am
Only in Hollywood…where dogs are sheep
April 26, 2010 at 9:39 am
clearly, “long sheep” and “lovely sheep” are code
either that or someone switched the pages in her ABC animals book
April 26, 2010 at 9:40 am
#4 raven :
Hollywood, Florida. I checked. Why that seemed so important to me, I don’t even know.
April 26, 2010 at 9:43 am
If the maker sees this , they ‘ll be feeling mighty sheepish.
April 26, 2010 at 9:46 am
Who let the dogs out? (gets pelted with felted wool balls)
April 26, 2010 at 9:48 am
What the flock?
April 26, 2010 at 9:48 am
Yet another reseller of crap made in large quantities in a factory!
Did she copy the description off the package, or is the error all her own?
April 26, 2010 at 9:53 am
Check out her “Ranch horse”. I can just picture this ranch, with all the horses gently rocking in the fields.

*waiting for lightning*
April 26, 2010 at 9:59 am
She has another site called ‘BigCartel’ , with lower prices. I guess that crap comes from a bigger factory.
April 26, 2010 at 10:00 am
I think this seller is very confused. Why are earrings displayed on a soup spoon? Maybe they’re edible not-sheep earrings?
April 26, 2010 at 10:00 am
@ #11: What the hell is a sweater necklace?
April 26, 2010 at 10:04 am
Awesome “view in pasture”
April 26, 2010 at 10:04 am
What happened to the charcoal listing? Why was it removed?
April 26, 2010 at 10:13 am
asmudzin, I made a mistake. It went up too early. It’ll be up again later.
April 26, 2010 at 10:07 am
What did I miss? I was in bed counting poodles.
April 26, 2010 at 10:11 am
This should be filed in Not Remotely Handmade, as well. Another crappy reseller.
April 26, 2010 at 10:12 am
Oh–look here:
http://www.korlane.com/singapore-fashion-accessories-earrings-p-575.html
Scroll to the bottom, where korlane.com uses the same “sheep” photos–it must be a total coincidence, or they’re stealing the Etsy crafter’s photo…which is it?
April 26, 2010 at 10:20 am
#6 Monstrosa : oops!
April 26, 2010 at 10:33 am
I thought that description in the photo looked too engrishy to be from Hollywood.
“This may be so because I realize that sadness follows at sono bubbles, balloons and flares”
ahhhh, so deep, so true.
April 26, 2010 at 10:36 am
I checked the rest of her shop for a coordinating Wolf necklace, but couldn’t find anything with Scooby Doo on it.
April 26, 2010 at 10:37 am
Don’t be such haters Regretskyians the seller is obviously the victim of a defective “Speak and Spell”
“P” is for SHEEP – the Sheep goes “WOOF WOOF”
April 26, 2010 at 10:39 am
@ISUS – yep, not even her mistakes are handmade!
April 26, 2010 at 10:42 am
Being both a knitting and dog fanatic, your view it in a pasture is making me swoon.
April 26, 2010 at 10:42 am
My love is like a cozy sheep,
shorn to look like a poodle,
with diamond stars from the sky
for you pink love to seek the true.
April 26, 2010 at 10:44 am
As they’re not hand-made, they are obviously vintage; just like these old throw-backs. What do you think…20′s, 30′s?

April 26, 2010 at 10:47 am
ya know what really kills is that there are almost 80 Etsy shoppers who “heart” this eBay/fleamarket shop.
April 26, 2010 at 10:48 am

lovely sheep – tasty lead flavor in pink paint AND silver color
you shop now – buy some
April 26, 2010 at 10:51 am

Somebody bought those sheep…dogs…whatever!?!
Geez — you could go to any mall and buy crap like that.
April 26, 2010 at 10:53 am

April 26, 2010 at 10:58 am

okay scratch that.
hmmm, sheri lewis and poodlechop?
meh, i give up.
April 26, 2010 at 10:58 am
The photo makes me want to shear some poodles!

Hollywood, FL, you say?
It’s time for a game of Germany or Florida!
April 26, 2010 at 11:15 am
This seller is clearly selling premade crap. Look at her other listings.
April 26, 2010 at 11:23 am
Sold!!! Etsy is going to the dogs…
April 26, 2010 at 11:24 am
Bah bah black poodle

@starrydreams-
You mean Etsy is going to the sheep…
April 26, 2010 at 11:34 am
Poor thing…….that’s one “citified” person from Hollywood……..I thought for sure someone from Hollywood would know what a poodle looks like!
I didn’t know there was a big demand for poodle-wool sweaters?
April 26, 2010 at 11:35 am
Oh, give me a break! You could never get all those poodles together in a pasture and get them to stand still for the photo!
April 26, 2010 at 11:44 am
I looked at the earrings and thought, “They look like poodles to me!”
Thank God for the picture because I thought maybe it was time to sober up.
On to another drink!
Kudos to everyone for finding out she’s another reseller and from where! You guys are AWESOME!
Yes, I’ll drink to that, too.
April 26, 2010 at 11:52 am
Would this be the lamb-chop supplier for Danny DeVito’s restaurant?
April 26, 2010 at 11:56 am
Now, that explains it! I had a wool sweater that caused me to itch, A LOT! I thought I’d developed a sensitivity to sheep’s wool. But, it turns out, I’m allergic to dogs.
April 26, 2010 at 11:57 am
I bet if the factory had these listed as ‘lovely shit’ this genius would have also resold/relisted them as such. Talk about sheep….
April 26, 2010 at 12:10 pm
Geez, now I got my knickers in a knot again. More resellers – bah!!! Outed via Regretsy, at least…
April 26, 2010 at 12:16 pm
I think Helen should open a detective agency and hire everyone here. Regretsky PI!
April 26, 2010 at 12:30 pm

Is there a Hollywood, Japan and Korea?

“What the hell is a sweater necklace?”
It’s what happens when you run afoul of the Swedish Mafia.
Also, this post is so lamb.
April 26, 2010 at 12:53 pm
Maybe “Long Sheep” is to dogs what “Long Pig” is to people.

I should have copied out my “Resellers belong in a special ring of hell” comment from the Thai reseller…
Resellers suck and they do nothing but hurt the high standards that Etsy is founded upon and continues to vigorously maintain.
Why’s everyone laughing?
April 26, 2010 at 1:55 pm
Wow a new “Sheepoo” breed discovered right here on Regretsky!

What I would say to this seller, “Ewe are barking up the wrong tree with this description lady!”
April 28, 2010 at 10:17 pm
Maybe he meant sheepdog. Poodles make great sheep dogs here in Omaha.
April 30, 2010 at 7:37 pm
These poodles look like a good sheep alternative for those alergic to wool.
June 15, 2011 at 1:43 am
It was looking ok until I saw the second picture. By the way, aren’t those poodles?
