I think I just been edjumacated. Thanks, Lorraine.
It looks like from some of the feedback she “lost some product because of snow”? Does she store cardboard boxes outside? Does it not usually snow in Missouri in the winter?
The positive feedbacks have to be fake, y’know, the shop owner using other accounts or bribing friends and family to buy something and leave positive feedback or something. Although a few of them sound legitimate. I love the one that simply said “Arrived!”
Theory101 :
The positive feedbacks have to be fake, y’know, the shop owner using other accounts or bribing friends and family to buy something and leave positive feedback or something.
I think she threatened to “lose” them in the snow, too.
ALWAYS check the feedback! There are many “bad sellers” on etsy… ruining it for everyone! It’s okay if the crap you’re selling is crap (and funny), but you’d better effing mail it out when bought!
Man, can’t believe people don’t check feedback. I -always- read it even if their rating is 100% positive b/c comments can be very revealing. I don’t buy anything online w/o checking ratings and reviews.
I bought from a seller with stellar , 100% positive feedback. No problem, received merch, all okay. She later ran a special, a ‘come on’-like free delivery with a large order, & racked up a ton of big ass orders , took the $ & ran , with no $ left in her Paypal acct. Many of us ate shit. Conversely, I tried a seller w/ no feedback- a new seller, convo’d her to express my hesitancy, got a nice reply & took a chance….immediate delivery & great item. Takes all kinds-but I agree, do the…
Hmm…notice how the first few positive feedbacks sound like advertising? Probably “friends” stuffed their feedback for an initial positive, then they took the rest to the cleaners. Scam groups do this for each other, then cash in–it’s common on dBay.
The lesson here isn’t do your homework; it is ‘be VERY skeptical if the item is too cheap’. Chances are you will get what you paid for. If it’s too cheap run the other direction and don’t throw common sense out of the door because of some positive feedback. No matter how well established a seller is, selling is still pretty anonymous and they can still rob you blind.
I was the one who wanted to be entertained by such horribleness! Thanks for sending the link. Hooray!
(I do not enjoy the fact that anyone actually got screwed or lost money. I’m sorry about all that. I’m a horrible person for being entertained by this, but I’m not THAT horrible)
doh! I just repeated #13′s “arrived” comment and I always thumbs-down the shit out of people for posting before they’ve read what’s already written. Sorry. I was all excited n shit.
She’s probably ready to leave etsy and start her own website/brick and mortar. I mean, all that’s missing is a rant, a Dr. Phil appearance, and some copyright infringement.
The remains of a local woman were discovered yesterday morning, face-down in the walkway between her front door and mailbox. Scattered around her body were several dozen small envelopes. Police found a message scrawled across one of them, believed to have been penned by the woman: “Sry 4 no convos”
Man, this is why I’ve never bought on Etsy and other anyone-can-sell sites (I mean, besides the fact that I’ve got no cash). In my business, if the client pays and you don’t deliver, you’d better have some muscle or you’re gonna get shivved.
I sold a pair of earrings to someone who reversed payment after I’d shipped them, and then I went back to see that others had since commented that she did the same to them (in November). I just went back and checked, and not only have they not banned her/removed her account, she has a positive feedback thanking her for the prompt payment from February. Why anyone would send merchandise to this woman after seeing that is beyond me!
#38, I want to clarify/add to my earlier comment on this thread: I have had many many many dealings with Etsyans.
One outright bit of thievery & one slightly less than satisfactory resolution.
The overwhelming majority of the transactions were excellent & I was pleased. Better odds than many other venues.
I know that there are quite a few people on Etsy that have had issues with the postal service, or whatevr service they use, with shipments not arriving or arriving months later, but there are too many negative ratings for this “seller” for it not to be a scam artist. I’m just glad that all my experiences on Etsy have been positive
geektastic- they maybe remove the items from their store. Apparently. And leave the store there. And maybe give them a good scolding. And they don’t get an orange in their Christmas stocking.
#54 – I agree. If they displayed the seller rating in an emphatic font and bright colors that would benefit the buyer. Ebay does a good job with that.
I am certain that when the buyers posted their negative feedbacks they saw the previous postings and wished the display would have made the poor performance rating easy to spot.
After filing a non-delivery with Etsy, going to the resolution center at PayPal, and some “I’m taking action emails”, my friend got her product. Still no communication from seller, EVER, so the bad feedback stays as is she told me. Fair enough…
Personally I don’t get it – some get product, some don’t, some eventually do (“it arrived” feedback). No attempt to avoid the bad feedback, no apology, no explanation, no nothing.
I wouldn’t operate a business like that, but then that’s…
I did check their feedback before buying, but I bought before it all went to hell, sadly. I saw they were brand new, but everyone has to be new at some point, right? I gave them a shot. I never got my damn boxes, but I finally got my $10 back.
March 19, 2010 at 3:04 pm
Wow, it’s amazing that Etsy hasn’t closed her down, but kind of more amazing that no one checked her feedback before buying stuff …..

#1 underemployed, good point…why indeed.
March 19, 2010 at 3:23 pm
I think it was just shut down? I don’t see any listings? I hope that email and you posting it was the reason?
March 19, 2010 at 3:24 pm
If a store gets shut down, does the banner still remain behind and the other stuff?
March 19, 2010 at 3:28 pm
I think the moral of this story is to check a shop’s feedback before you buy.
March 19, 2010 at 3:43 pm
i love their middle finger display… it got positive feedback:

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me after buying from an Etsy Seller with 26 negative feedbacks, then I deserve to piss my money away.
March 20, 2010 at 9:19 am
That’s terrible . There should be a warning sign during checkout out to let people know about the rating of the seller .
March 20, 2010 at 10:29 am
They already have a website:
http://www.onesourcejewelrysupply.com/
And yes, compliants have been filed against them and request from Etsy and Paypal to have funds reimbursed.
March 20, 2010 at 10:48 am

In case anyone would like to inform them how “famous” they have become.
They also have an E-bay shop with one sale – a report was submitted that they maybe a fraudulent shop, in that they don’t deliver sold products.
