Oh man,I wish I had money and talent.
January 10, 2010 at 8:02 pm
I really love the whimsicle. I could see it as curtains in an ice cream shop. Or an apron
January 10, 2010 at 8:12 pm
whimsicle is just…. wow… LOVE it!!!!
January 10, 2010 at 8:13 pm
really dig kitty paisley too
January 10, 2010 at 8:14 pm
#1, I’m with you. Me = 0 Talent or Time. I’m a Level -6.
*****
I’m digging them all but the Paisley really is quite fine! Great job everyone!
January 10, 2010 at 8:17 pm
love love love whimsicle– i would definitely sew a dress from that.
January 10, 2010 at 8:20 pm
#5 Fo5ter: I might be able to make a decent design if I had some time and was inspired, might being the key word. Unfortunately I couldn’t sew my way out of a paper bag.
January 10, 2010 at 8:27 pm
I am totally buying my fabric as soon as I get paid! Everyone needs something speculum…er…spectacular! I am leaning towards sock covers so you can wear them at the dr.’s office!
January 10, 2010 at 8:44 pm
#1 and #6 sudabaki, has someone already made the thumbs up their avatar? I’m tempted to since where there’s a down there must be an up. I too suck at sewing, but made a killer homemade Sally costume back in 2001.
January 10, 2010 at 8:48 pm
I don’t think so Fo5ter. Do it! We’ll be fraternal twins!
January 10, 2010 at 8:58 pm
#7 smurfy12b: I should by a yard just to take to doctor visits for cover up. That stupid paper towel they have always rips when I get up on that damn table. If it were a month earlier I would ask Santa.
January 10, 2010 at 8:59 pm
I seriously think the speculum one should be on scrubs — GO FOR IT. People in the medical field have an awesome, wicked sense of humor.
January 10, 2010 at 9:00 pm
p.s. Mine is not so great, but it might make a nice trim for something else . . .
January 10, 2010 at 9:02 pm
oh snap, *buy a yard
January 10, 2010 at 9:03 pm
lmao I think I will do it! The really bad thing is I have my physical on Friday and I will be laughing during the entire exam!
omg I wish I could get it printed on the paper towel garments! I actually looked online to find speculums to buy one and hot glue glasses and a hat on it. But damn they are expensive!
January 10, 2010 at 9:05 pm
I think the orange whimsicle is awesome too. Kinda like a creamsicle.
January 10, 2010 at 9:08 pm
Sudabaki, I channeled some level 0.75 skills that I didn’t know I had and *should* have a new avatar in 5-10 minutes. We may be more twinkieish than you’d expect.
January 10, 2010 at 9:08 pm
I’ve been to doctors with plastic speculums. If your doctor has that kind maybe you could just “borrow” one.
January 10, 2010 at 9:09 pm
#16 Fo5ter: Squeee! We’re even the same color!!! I thought I was looking in the mirror!
January 10, 2010 at 9:12 pm
Forgive my stupidity…but how do you upload a pic to be your avatar? Sally Speculum MUST be mine! rofl
January 10, 2010 at 9:13 pm
I don’t know how to make the green one come through clearly! Seriously, Level 0.75 shit here. But I liked how my thumb is positive with a bit of snark.

Not a stupid question at all. If I can do it you can do it. I’m from Alabama. Bahahaha. Seriously.
January 10, 2010 at 9:18 pm
Thank you Fo5ter! It WAS easy!
January 10, 2010 at 9:22 pm
Smurfy, is that a pelican?! ♥ it!
You’re most certainly welcome. Regretsy via Facebook told me how.
January 10, 2010 at 9:37 pm
That’s mine 3 down!!
January 10, 2010 at 9:38 pm
Fo5ter: It’s Sally Jesse Speculum!!!!
January 10, 2010 at 9:44 pm
sudabaki, lol. I got it now, but must have missed the original introduction to Sally Jesse! Hyster-ectomy-cal!
January 10, 2010 at 9:49 pm
#24 Peacocktaco: Your design is pretty awesome (and disturbing). What are the brown things that look like, uhm, buttons. Yeah, buttons.
#26 Fo5ter: She came alive in Level 5. Smurfy12b lovingly refers to her as Sally Speculum. No need to be formal.
January 10, 2010 at 9:56 pm
#27 I think the brown buttons you speak of are the eyes of the orange cut out cat. They are just tilted low and to the left to emulate the shape of the blue “kitties”
January 10, 2010 at 10:08 pm
Love love LOVE the whimsicle! I had no idea this Spoonflower thing existed. Now I need to design something non-Regretsy. (Well, that’s the hope, anyhow.)
January 10, 2010 at 10:10 pm
Just added a super-classy Vagoo Logo print for those super-classy occasions. Really, really needs to be a handbag. Regretsy has unleashed a spoonflower monster.
January 10, 2010 at 10:12 pm
unleashed a total beast! i am addicted!
January 10, 2010 at 10:31 pm
#28 Peacocktaco: I see the eyes now. It looked like an inverted nipple or a sphincter or something along those lines. You never know here.
January 10, 2010 at 10:41 pm
#32 sudabaki success! I was hopping to subtly evoke the feels of a anus or such by shape when I made it.

Not a stupid question at all. If I can do it you can do it. I’m from Alabama. Bahahaha. Seriously.
DO you use your regretsy login? I cant get mine to work.
January 10, 2010 at 10:48 pm
#34 Peacocktaco: You have to set up a gravatar account.
January 10, 2010 at 10:56 pm
#35 sudabaki: ohhhhhhhh DUH! thanks!
January 10, 2010 at 11:04 pm
No problem peacocktaco. For being so simple I found I was quite befuddled by the whole process the first time I did it.
January 10, 2010 at 11:27 pm
it definitely required dusting off the thinking cap.
January 11, 2010 at 12:12 am
That fucking speculum LOL. I love her like I do that fucking cat.LOL
10.00 for a plastic one http://www.fwhc.org/sale3.htm. Or if you visit your OB/GYN they are usually located in the drawers on the exam table themselves- not in the cupboard. Don’t ask and i won’t tell why i know that.
January 11, 2010 at 12:21 am
http://www.amazon.com/MedStock-Metal-Vaginal-Speculums-medium/dp/B000F1SSEY
Here is a cheap metal one and if you scroll to the bottom you can get yah 10 for a few bucks of the plastic ones. I found a site where you can purchase more fucking speculums then even an OB office should have and it says requires presription. Can you imagine that conversation with your doc.
So “Smurf” when can we purchase sally jesse speculums?

Big fucking sally glasses- in red. 1 dozen shipped is about 19.00- or you can get one pair if you don’t want to share and hoard your speculum all for yourself. I am thinking you need to make these things.
January 11, 2010 at 1:13 am
Minature hats, if you are near a Hobby Lobby run about 1.99 a dozen- plain color- you’d have th sharpie them up.
Let us know when they are for sale- no excuses now. bah ahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa
January 11, 2010 at 2:55 am
Whimsicle is kick ass!!!
January 11, 2010 at 4:54 am
These fabrics would make a kick-ass quilt. I’m just sayin’.
January 11, 2010 at 8:04 am
Ooh! Diggin’ the whimsical popsicle, very cool.
January 11, 2010 at 8:06 am
i am inspired to make more designs! how flattering and cool it would be if others would wear/use a fabric that i created! i dunno how many people would wear “cowboy kitty” but hey ya never know…but now that we have more than 3 hours, we can all play til our heart’s content and come up with some really neat stuff!
those designs are adorable, btw…how fun!!
January 11, 2010 at 8:16 am
I would use cowboy kitty! I love it! A large square of it would make a special pillow!
January 11, 2010 at 8:21 am
@ RecoveringCrackBaby
Wow! Thank you so much! lmao I will most definetely check those out and see what I can create! That would be a riot! Will keep everyone posted when Sally Speculum will make her debut!
January 11, 2010 at 8:26 am
Hahaha, this is just too much fun. But we can’t let on or they’ll take it away from us…
January 11, 2010 at 8:34 am
hey all, i ordered a swatch but still can’t make my design “public”…does it take a few minutes/hours/a day to be able to make a print for sale?
(like a small ornament or something)-and thanks peacocktaco, i think your stuff is amazing!!
i am gonna even try to make something out of my swatch- may as well
January 11, 2010 at 8:42 am
These are soooooo good!
January 11, 2010 at 8:45 am
Peacocktaco and Razberries: How do you make your name an active link? Thanks!
January 11, 2010 at 8:58 am
While I don’t know how many companies there are like it, this NC resident says thanks just the same for choosing Spoonflower! They’re an amazing taste of what we could have if we revived our textile heritage and it’s a thrill to see them getting publicity.
January 11, 2010 at 9:06 am
#52 Skully: I’m bouncing up and down with anticipation of getting a peek into the world of Skully.
January 11, 2010 at 9:11 am
sudabaki, me too! (re- skully)
lol
mr. skully, i am so damn clueless with this wordpress stuff…it took me a long time to even figure out my avatar…lemme look and see if i can remember how to make a hyperlink under your name…i’ll get back to ya here
ps- this shocks me that the question is coming from you- the one who does the kick-ass flash animations
January 11, 2010 at 9:15 am
ok skully, got it (and this is way easier than doing an avatar)…
click on the “sign-in” box in the upper left on this site…then put in your password…from there it brings you to your profile page, and there should be a bunch of boxes for your name, website, etc…let me know if you need more help…
January 11, 2010 at 9:19 am
holy crap! What a bunch of great talent! I’m going to have to learn Photoshop! How fun is this!
January 11, 2010 at 9:20 am
Raz, I added my FB link to ‘websites’ but have yet to see any changes or links. I’m guessing it takes 5-10 mins but if not is there something I’m missing?
January 11, 2010 at 9:21 am
Stupid impatient me. Let the stalking commence!
January 11, 2010 at 9:31 am
hi, Dana
guess it worked!
January 11, 2010 at 9:37 am
Thanks, Suda and Raz. I’m looking forward to the Regretsy chat room, should be freakier than the Cragslist BDSM/Kink forum, definitely more whimsicle.
January 11, 2010 at 9:41 am
I think I need to order a bunch of this and make a regrestsy quilt.
January 11, 2010 at 9:44 am
glad you answered that razberries….i just conquered the challenge of customizing my avatar last night
January 11, 2010 at 9:50 am
Bugger…I tagged my designs with regretsy, but they still don’t show up with the others. Did I miss something? I got the view public and all….
I really like my devil cat and wanted it to show up.
January 11, 2010 at 9:51 am
regretmenot, did you scroll to the last page? i think the most recent designs are like on page 4 or something…
January 11, 2010 at 9:56 am
squee! four new Atomic Elephant colorways have been added. Suggestions welcome. Once I figure out how to put them up for sale, they’re all yours, folks. Tonight’s playtime will be swatch hunting – then deciding what to buy!!!
January 11, 2010 at 9:58 am
yep…still not there. I dunno.
January 11, 2010 at 10:06 am
@ #67 you need to put regretsy in the keyword area. go into design > design details
January 11, 2010 at 10:07 am
Oh, also, you need to check the box making it public (it still won’t be for sale until it’s proofed, but we’ll be able to shop it.)
January 11, 2010 at 10:12 am
Save those fabric scraps Helen (and anyone else too)!
I’d love to make you a letter!

January 11, 2010 at 10:17 am
sculptor-any advice why i can’t make mine for sale? i already purchased a swatch a while ago…do you know the turnaround time? sorry to bug you, but you seem to be the guru…LOL
love all your designs so far!
January 11, 2010 at 10:36 am
I think it takes awhile after you order your swatch before they let you set it for sale. The idea is that you should be able to receive the swatch and verify that it actually looks OK before they let other people spend their money on it. It’s a quality control measure. I can’t find anywhere on the site where it gives a specific time frame, though. I can’t imagine it’s more than a week, though.
January 11, 2010 at 10:41 am
The whimsicle popsicle one is adorable and the paisley one is beautiful! I want some of this fabric…I just have to figure out what I’m going to make with it!
January 11, 2010 at 10:41 am
@raz: don’t know the turnaround time, sorry. but otherwise, as near as I can figure, it seems to be just what Pants said. I’ve gotta figure it’s going to be between 1-3 weeks, depending on their load (and I’m betting we just gave them a shit-load LOL) And thanks for the props on the colorways – just goin’ with the retro vibe.
And whomever did that porno-toile, that is TEH AWESOMEZ. I need to make a computer bag out of that to take to the Kink fairs…
January 11, 2010 at 10:57 am
OH!! i want a whimsicle scarf NOW ^_^ just too awesome!
January 11, 2010 at 11:00 am
thanx sculptor and pantsmonkey, that is what i thought, but just wanted to confirm…
January 11, 2010 at 11:02 am
Hey April! I will make you a handbag out of your favorite fabric. Just let me know!
Kitty
January 11, 2010 at 11:08 am
THANKS KITTY! I’ll take you up that!
I want a Louis Vagoo, with lots of obnoxious gold hardware and shit on it.
January 11, 2010 at 2:23 pm
You know, most of those would make great wrapping paper too.
January 11, 2010 at 3:51 pm
Ok April, I haven’t made one like that but I’m up for the challenge.
Kitty
January 11, 2010 at 3:59 pm
God some of these are really gorgeous. There are a few I’d love to make little zipper pouches out of for my etsy shop. I’d give one to the designer free and credit them of course. And make a few over-sensitive etsy enemies in the process, I’m sure.
January 12, 2010 at 7:07 am
This is both an incredibly nifty contest and a brilliant site. Finally, affordable, small-lot custom fabrics. You *rock*!
January 12, 2010 at 2:29 pm
Damn damn damn, I wish I had sewing talent. I would LOVE to make cool cotton summer blouses out of a few of these fabrics…
