I like how it says “it is whimsical” right there in the title, as though the seller was so confident that the rest of us wouldn’t be able to figure it out on our own so they decided just to tell us how “whimsical” it is right at the outset

Maybe the butterfly is giving us the finger.

Or it just got out of a golden shower (thus the yellow beads on top).

Eh…I tried. got nothin.

People should really think twice about posting their practice/learning a new craft/technique work. Except, I know…we’d have nothing to make fun of them, so yes, they should post it.

Could you imagine how fantastic you would look if you bought and wore all the featured stuff from Regretsy? What’s bothering me is that it seems to be photographed against a backdrop of human flesh. Or maybe its fleece or felt. I don’t know, but it’s just creepy. Butterflies don’t have arms or antennae just randomly poking out of them, either. At least none that I’ve seen. I do, however, appreciate the crafty use of a twisted paper clip flung out of it’s eye. Clever and whimsical!

This is the kind of object that your 5 year old goddaughter makes at camp or in art class. She presents it to you with great pride. You gleefully accept the “masterpiece” and treasure it forever. Then, and ONLY then, is such a creation “whimsical.”

Whimsical: Dictionary Definition: “Odd or fantastic in appearance; quaintly devised; fantastic”.

This piece is far from Whimsical, and should be described correctly as CRAP. It looks like something my cat hacked up!!

This is an example of one of those listings where the best photo was not chosen to be the main photo. The last photo, with the “FUN” bubble coming out of the butterfly, is where it’s at.

By the way, I thought the repeating xxx was to signal that this was a pastie, not a brooch. The flesh-toned background makes more sense this way, too.

Oh my goodness. As a biologist, this offends me so much. It’s like seeing a picture of a duck with teeth or a bat with antennae.
