Crapstack

I’m no expert, but if you’re in the business of making candy, you might want to photograph it so it doesn’t look like something out of the North American Scat Guide. All this needs is ruler next to it and a couple of flies.

$5 for a haystack? Damn, that had better have some black truffle oil in there for some reason.

Holy crap!
And that’s what I thought this was for a moment there too.
I’m not sure that putting this on a decorative plate and garnishing with an orchid blossom really would have made any difference.
Holy crap.

I’ve made these before. Pretty tasty. Not worth $5.

This is the “candy” my mom used to make when all we had around the house were raw Spanish peanuts, almond bark, and some stale Chinese noodles. It’s in the lowest spot on the candy food chain. Seriously, below candy corn from two years ago. And you’re charging $5 for it.

Giant, swirly lollipops are “fun candy”. Chocolate bunnies are “fun candy”. This is a desperate ploy to compile leftovers into something edible…and I’m not sure it worked.

I was hungry, and then I saw this. The seller should re-label this as a weight-loss aid.

Perfect for Halloween goblins! Who will be the lucky recepient that gets this in their treat bag? Don’t worry though… only one needle per haystack!

honestly though Sar-Sar – you are right. :D I don’t think better lighting or props will help.

Next time I get a Chinese takeaway, I’m going to collect the aftermath in baking cases, and sell it door to door. I’ll be minted in a month.

this seller seems to have removed this item, perhaps as a result of being featured?

Looks like she chewed up a bunch of Hershey’s chocolate, let it dribble out her mouth into a bowl, mixed it up with large pieces of coconut and egg noodles, then formed them into disgusting blobs, and stuck them in the fridge for approximately 30 minutes or until they set up.
If you need to know how much chocolate to barf up, please let me know. It’s probably around 1 pound per batch. :D

SCRUMPTIOUS.

I do love haystacks (mmm, butterscotch!)

But who would seriously pay someone for one? I could make a whole batch of fresh ones for almost the same amount!!!

#15 SRM :
1 (12 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c. nuts (peanuts, cashews.. )
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 pkg. chow mein noodles

Melt chips in heavy saucepan over low heat until melted. Remove from heat and add peanuts or nuts and vanilla; mix and add chow mein noodles. Stir until all is coated. Drop by spoon on wax paper. Cool and eat.

There! I saved you all $5.

to be fair, her other baked goods look OK… and i think you might get more than one for $5. I’m hoping that the seller just didn’t realize how, um, unfortunate this particular treat looks when photographed.

Wait, the long protruding things are chow mein noodles, not mouse femurs?

This kinda reminds me of the faded, flash photography photos of the delicious greasy plates of…um… “food” at the local diner where everything was a uniform shade of brownish-gray.

I picked up a few of these babies in my backyard after my dog swallowed too much tree bark. At the very least they’re probably high in fiber.

#15 you don’t even have to use a saucepan to melt the chocolate. The microwave works great, on a low/defrost setting.

Looks gross, like that muddy green ‘wheat grass’ juice at coffeeshops, but sounds much tastier.
