Schlocky Raccoon
“Welcome! Welcome to my little corner of hell, guarded by a hideous raccoon statue I bought at Lawn Ornament World, and then just painted to look like a fox, because by then I was too stoned to Google a raccoon.”

It’s not even a tanuki statue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanuki
And yes, I am mentioning tanuki because they are famed for having enormous testicles and being able to perform testicle-based magic.

Testicle-based magic is my favorite.

The wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanuki briefly touches on tanuki’s enormous testicles and magic, but for the full anime treatment, you need to find Studio Ghibli’s “Pom Poko: The [Tanuki] war” — http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pom_Poko — just remember that the translation of “tanuki” as “raccoons” is incorrect. Tanuki only look like raccoons. They are a different animal, with far larger, more magical, testicles.

Is this really a hand-made shop?

Sure, they used brown instead of gray, but really, OP, that looks NOTHING like a fox.

You might be right. It looks more like Dick Gregory.

The raccoons in Indiana were brown. I couldn’t figure out wtf I was looking at the first time I saw one dead on teh side of the road there. I always thought raccoons were always gray, but no, some are really brown! http://pelotes.jea.com/AnimalFact/Mammal/Racoon2.jpg

What’s really special about this is how the word “Welcome” is fashioned from the bleached bones of the raccoon’s victims. It’s this sort of attention to detail that sets this one apart from all the other horrifying “welcome” animals.

Raccoons love to attack, welcome indeed!

Hello A Long Time Ago,
I’m just here to say that I think it’s hilarious that NOW when you ask Google what a racoon looks like, THIS page pops up in the first page of image search!
