Not familiar with the town of Midlothian, I assumed it was an adjective. Apparently it is:
Midlothian, adj, exhibiting the qualities of being stupid enough to hang road-kill carcasses on your body.
“My midlothian boyfriend smelled of carrion.”
I’m sufficiently repulsed by this to harbor a little wish that the ‘cat burglar’ gets hijacked by the skateboard ….& crashes into a fucking monster tree.
I just totally thought those things pinned onto it were a serial killers collection of hair cuttings. I mean, if you can’t proudly display your “trophies,” then what’s the point, right?
it puts the cat fur on its skin or else it gets the hose again….
reminds me of that “silence of the lambs” scene, where buffalo bill is “trying on” skin and doing the penis-tuck dance…. maybe cat pelt strips would be warmer in the winter for the serial killer on your gift list.
I’m sorry, but I think those are bacon bait dangling, and this was the uniform worn by the lady in England who gathered up cats to discard them in dumpsters. That’s as close to an association to “cat” as I can come on this mess.
#43 – I don’t think there are any more costumes from this company. I did a search and this is what I found:
“Nittayas Designs Inc is a private company categorized under Wood and Lumber Stores and located in Richmond, VA.”
@46, that’s odd; I Googled Nittayas Designs and found an alterations shop located in Richmond, VA. Well, I suppose one would want to have that cat-type costume “altered” to make sure it doesn’t breed…
This reminds me of the episode of Blackadder where Edmund purchased his “robes of state” and the fur was cat (complete with collars) instead of ermine.
I am sorely disappointed. I live in Edinburgh, which borders the county of Midlothian (there’s also a West Lothian and an East Lothian). I had such hopes that this item was for sale here in Scotland, and I could pop over and buy it in time for Halloween.
Cat sausage? Price of cat + grinder.
Its own intestines as casing? A disturbing smell in your garage.
Rolling them in lintfuzz? Itches from dustmites.
Molding it to look like dildos? Years of psychological scarring.
Making a Halloween or grocery store statement strong enough to cause everyone you encounter to throw up on your serial-killer-grade hygenic white shoes?

This is more of a roadkill – type costume. Cats have 9 LIVES not tails!
Unless those are supposed to be entrails hanging off the back…
October 26, 2010 at 9:42 am
Crazy feral cat lady.

So, if I hot glue beef jerky to a hazmat suit, can I call it a cow-type costume for Halloween?
October 26, 2010 at 9:48 am
This is a cat-astrophy.
October 26, 2010 at 9:50 am
Totally reminds me of the outfit Halle Berry wore.
October 26, 2010 at 9:53 am
Is this “cat” *air quotes* being attacked by some kind of hairy parasite?
October 26, 2010 at 9:58 am
Somebody has a bad case of mange. They make a shampoo for that now.
Too bad they don’t make one for really bad taste.
October 26, 2010 at 10:02 am
Does she have that sour puss on because all the other furries laughed at her?
October 26, 2010 at 10:03 am
She’s a really lazy furry. Show a little effort lady!
October 26, 2010 at 10:07 am
“Fools! You will rue the day you crossed Midlothian the Cat-type Avenger! My furry leeches will soon teach you to stay off my lawn!”
“Bobby, Grampa’s gotten out again, could you bring him back in and make sure he takes his medicine this time?”
October 26, 2010 at 10:08 am
#3 Virginia has a town named Midlothian. From the looks of this photo, I’m pretty sure I know my geography.
October 26, 2010 at 10:09 am
oh i get it! it’s a litter box!
….right?
October 26, 2010 at 10:10 am
Looks like a moldy cat box liner, turds and all
October 26, 2010 at 10:12 am
Midlothian sounds like LOTR. Are we sure this isn’t Middle Earth?
October 26, 2010 at 10:12 am
Yep, it’s the VA Midlothian. I was about to buy this until I took a second look at the model… I don’t want to die.

This is the kind of fuckery I pray they don’t do to me when I’m in a retirement home.
October 26, 2010 at 10:35 am
Grandma ran OVER the reindeer this year! That will teach them and their Santa!
October 26, 2010 at 10:36 am
“Honey, the cat’s been rolling around in the litter box again!” Just ew.
October 26, 2010 at 10:36 am
There is a Midlothian in Illinois and Texas also. Are people from Midlothian called Midlothianians? And do they all wear cat dredlocks?
October 26, 2010 at 10:40 am
Those white sneakers really pull the whole look together.
October 26, 2010 at 10:44 am
@22 nylasor:
Midlothian is a very large town. This particular costume is Mid-Midlothianian in origin.
October 26, 2010 at 10:52 am
So it’s an alley cat AFTER the fight, right?
October 26, 2010 at 10:52 am
@16 LeeLooDallas
I’m pretty sure, by the looks of this costume, that Midlothian is a suburb of Lothlorien. Didn’t know Galadriel was into Etsy.
October 26, 2010 at 10:54 am
What in the name of Chaucer’s beard…????
October 26, 2010 at 10:59 am
Someone sure got a lot of tail…
What became of the rest of the cats {shudder}
October 26, 2010 at 11:06 am
Looks nothing like Ertha Kitt, Julie Newmar or Halle Berrie
October 26, 2010 at 11:08 am
I hope someone is saving this for the elder abuse trial for whatever the nursing home is.
October 26, 2010 at 11:27 am
The Midlothians are off the scale – the Farce is strong in this one!

OMG! This is just blatant elder abuse! Granny must have crapped in the bed again.
October 26, 2010 at 1:04 pm
Here kitty kitty. Nanna needs a quick $10 for Bingo Night!

October 26, 2010 at 1:57 pm
Oh, I’m glad it isn’t Midlothian, TX. I would be ashamed to be in the same state as that costume.
October 26, 2010 at 2:36 pm
No one else though this might be a brutal mutant caterpillar attack?
October 26, 2010 at 2:59 pm
“Label reads Nittayas Designs.”
You mean there’s more where this came from?
October 26, 2010 at 4:10 pm
remember folks this is why you NEVER try to give kitty a bath
October 26, 2010 at 4:25 pm
personally i thought they were being attacked by rabid minks

Black with fur strips. (and no ears.) Oh my hell. I hope ‘Nittaya’ stopped at only 1 design.
Maybe if she had wanted to really try, she could have used the strips to spell ‘cat’.
I hope that granny went all RedBallz on the photographer after this picture was taken.
October 26, 2010 at 6:01 pm
Step 1.) Painter’s jumpsuit from Home Depot.
Step 2.) 14 dead squirrels
Step 3.) Profit.
I believe I read this business plan at Harvard.

Feline angst; licking
my sad fur strips, dangling.
Oh, Midlothian!
October 26, 2010 at 7:09 pm
Oh my god, this is PERFECT! I’m going as Pussy Galore!
October 26, 2010 at 8:08 pm
Definitely not from Middle Earth. Even Gollum had better taste than this!
October 27, 2010 at 12:09 am
This reminds me of the episode of Blackadder where Edmund purchased his “robes of state” and the fur was cat (complete with collars) instead of ermine.
October 27, 2010 at 2:42 am
Is the costume representing a cat, or are cats what they’ve stapled to it?
October 27, 2010 at 7:00 am
I am sorely disappointed. I live in Edinburgh, which borders the county of Midlothian (there’s also a West Lothian and an East Lothian). I had such hopes that this item was for sale here in Scotland, and I could pop over and buy it in time for Halloween.
Now what will I wear?
October 27, 2010 at 7:04 am
That should have been spelled “kat-type” (like crab with a “k”)because this is clearly the spray-painted pollock version of a cat suit.
October 27, 2010 at 11:13 am
My mom told me my Grandpa just went away to die.
October 29, 2010 at 2:44 pm
Whew, count me among those who are relieved it’s not the DFW area Midlothian…I was about to go hide in my closet.
